Pre-CBTA Rider Evaluation & Training
*While training is not a compulsory part of the approved CBTA course content, it’s highly recommended that you’re fully trained / prepared before attempting the CBTA course assessment. Our approved CBTA assessors will be able to offer you optional training at any stage of your progression through the graduated licensing system.
Because of the sole learning nature of motorcycle riding, progress is some what hard to track and assess on a personal growth level and general so called “bad habits” and poor technique form over time. During this evaluation ‘YOU’ will be center stage and have the Instructors undivided attention. They will move you through the following riding tasks and competencies and offer you training advise and show you correct riding procedures to educate and upskill in the those areas’ which may have been over-looked during for riding progression.
Generally 1 in 3 candidates have to resit thier CBTA Assessment due to thinking that have all the necessary riding skills’, as they just didn’t know any different.

At any given time during the assessment, your performance in one of the following seven riding tasks will be assessed:
- Moving in
- Riding straight
- Riding a curve
- Riding through an intersection
- Turning back
- Moving out
Where applicable, the following competencies will be assessed during each riding task:
- Head check
- Speed management
- Following distance
